Supermodel Heidi Klum says the catwalk pays the bills, but her newly launched children's clothing line puts a smile on her face .
"For me, it's just something I enjoy doing. I love to design," Klum says of Truly Scrumptious, her new children's clothing line, which previewed Wednesday at Babies 'R' Us at Union Square.
The line is set to launch Sept. 15 and will feature Klums own designs for stylish newborns and children up to age 5.
Klum says the collection "isn't necessarily something that improves earnings.
"I make a lot of money when I do a modeling gig. And it's much easier. I show up for one day, and I twirl around and smile for the camera.
But she added: I love being creative."
Klum abandoned her jewelry line after being sued by Van Cleef & Arpels, which alleged she was using their trademark clover design.
