Still trying to wrap your brain around Heidi Klum and Seals shocking separation? Youre definitely not alone. In the days after the Project Runway hosts announcement, details of their troubled marriage are starting to emerge. But who made the first move, and with her substantial increase in income since the couple first said, I do, are Heidi Klums millions protected?
Yes, there is a prenup, a source close to the situation tells Life & Style Weekly. A decision that will end up proving very beneficial for the supermodel turned super mogul, whose career has skyrocketed since their nuptials.
In 2005, when they got married, the career situation was a bit different, says the insider. Heidi has really had way more success than Seal since then.
That success includes her lucrative! modelin g contracts, Lifetime reality shows, a jewelry line, and more, earning Klum an estimated $70 million over the years, while the Kiss from a Rose singers net worth is said to be lingering somewhere around $15 million.
As details of their split continue to leak, one thing that still isnt clear is why the couple decided to end what appeared to be the perfect marriage. According to an associate of Klums, however, it was Heidi who initiated the divorce. She was the one to hire an attorney, the source reveals. She wanted to be in charge and make sure that he knew that she was leaving him.
This only after one last-ditch effort to save their marriage. An insider says, They holed up for 48 hours and tried to make it work, but they couldnt.
